I have been working with the NF Networks for over 15 years, building relationships with scientists and legislators in Washington DC, working to continue the funding for medical research into Neurofibromatosis. Now, it is especially important to fight for the treatment and cures for this disorder. We are so very close to several approaches for treatment......PLEASE HELP me raise money to help others in our community deal with the difficulties of living with NF!! I will be walking in the NF Strong walk on June 25th at Marymoor Park in Redmond WA to raise money and show support. Join me at the event, or contribute to my efforts. Thank you very much!!! Karen
Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to form on the nerves anywhere body at any time. This progressive disorder affects all races, all ethnic groups and both sexes equally. NF is one of the most common genetic disorders in the United States (one in every 2,500 to 3,000 births). The neurofibromatoses affects more than 100,000 Americans; this makes NF more prevalent than Cystic Fibrosis, hereditary Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s Disease and Tay Sachs combined.
